how to play darts
The sport of darts is one of the most popular and universally played around the world. Simple rules, inexpensive equipment and no restrictions on play by age, sex or size makes darts an all around sporting/recreational activity. Darts can be played for fun and relaxation and also as a preofessional sport./p>
1. THE DARTBOARD: SETTING UP
The board should be mounted to a firm surface using the fixing kit provided.

3. MOST POPULAR GAMES
- 301 – start with any double. Take it in turns to throw. Try to reduce your score from 301 down to 0. You must finish on a double, ie. 40 = double 20, 32 = double 16 etc. (If you score more than the remaining amount, then your score is "bust" - throw again after your opponent has thrown.
- ROUND THE CLOCK – go round the board by number, ie. 1,2,3,4, up to 20,25,50. The first to hit each number is the winner.
- HI-SCORE – all players have 5 "lives". Each player throws one dart for nearest the bull. Whoever is closest starts the game and has a free throw. the next player must beat the previous score. When a player has lost 5 "lives", they are out of the game. The last player to still have "lives" is the winner.
3. BASIC RULES & TECHNIQUES
- Stand behind the throw line
- Hold the barrel between thumb and first two fingers
- A throw is 3 darts
- A "bounce out" does not score
- Stay relaxed and balanced
- Use a steady and smooth action
